Senior back-end developer (Java and application architecture)

You will help develop the software and maintain and upgrade existing codebases.

From development to architecture discussions: your input matters!

In January 2023, we merged with platform organization Invenna. This led to a growth in our organization and the ambitions for further development of our software technology stack are bigger than ever. That’s why we’re looking for a senior back-end developer (40 hours) who helps to develop, but also to maintain and upgrade. You assist in developing the software and maintaining and upgrading existing codebases. We provide a hybrid work environment. So, a few days from home and also at our offices in Arnhem and/or Nieuwegein.

What you’re going to do
The Human Inference software solution consists of a variety of elements, developed in-house and, among others, in Java and Angular. The software is used by customers for advanced data quality and Master Data Management (MDM) applications.

You assist in continuously developing the software. Next to that, you’ll maintain and upgrade the existing codebases to the newest technologies. This involves cooperation with technical leads. You’re encouraged to engage in architecture discussions regarding the realization of future-proof software products. Your opinion has value.

You are
Someone who’s at home in the world of software solutions and IT, and is interested in data. You have at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5 years of work experience. You have experience with Java/JEE, scalable software architecture, REST APIs and web services architecture.

You have an excellent command of the Dutch language and are able to express yourself in English. You have strong communication skills and are used to working in an Agile/scrum environment with tools like GIT, Jenkins, Docker, JIRA and Confluence.

Your profile

  • At least 5 years of work experience.
  • At least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Java certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, able to quickly switch between various internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent Dutch in speech and writing, a good command of the English language.
  • Experience with Java/JEE, scalable software architecture, REST APIs and web services architecture.
  • Knowledge about databases like MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle database systems and SQL servers.
  • Advantage: work experience with cloud developments.
  • And experience with design patterns and best coding practices.
