Human Inference completes acquisition of DataCleaner and eobjects
14.02.2011
Human Inference today
announced the completion of its acquisition of DataCleaner
and eobjects.org. Human Inference is now positioned to offer
the world-wide data quality community the best of both worlds:
entry-level data quality tools through the open source-model and
specialized data quality knowledge and tools through the familiar
Human Inference solutions.
DataCleaner is an Open Source application for analyzing, profiling
and transforming data. "This acquisition reflects a desire by our
global customers and partners to get entry-level tools for
assessing the quality of their data. The starting point of every
good data quality project lies with understanding your starting
position and its impact on your daily business. DataCleaner
provides these first insights," says Vincent van Hunnik, Chief
Marketing Officer of Human Inference.
With today's announcement, eobjects.org will become a division of
Human Inference with the purpose of supporting the worldwide data
quality community in gaining evidence on the added value of good
quality data as easy as possible.
Human Inference customers can, like anyone else, benefit from the
data quality knowledge and tools that are made available as open
source via the eobjects.org community. With this acquisition, Human
Inference continues to lead the European data quality arena by not
only providing the best commercial data quality solution, but also
by supporting each individual data quality expert in getting access
to more and better tools, as well as a community to share
knowledge.
Kasper Sørensen, founder of eobjects.org, joins Human Inference
and will lead the broadened team that will support the community.
"My vision when I started eobjects.org was that everyone should
have access to entry-level data quality tools. With the increased
funding, resources and customer base of Human Inference, this
vision is now becoming a reality."
