Intelligent software enables future connection to New Trade Register
The province of Gelderland selected the HIquality Product Suite of Human Inference, supplier of data quality software, and thus created one company database for the province of Gelderland. This company database is being fed by various source files and is being used to make this data available to other automated applications in a structured way. Project and consultancy firm Inology has taken care of the implementation and the actual connection.
At various places within the organization of the province, data of companies is being registered. The reasons for registering company data differ dramatically and fit within the responsibilities of the various departments. Involved managers of source files are, among others, the department for granting and maintaining permits, the department for soil maintenance, the information center for environmental complaints and the employment questionnaire of the province (i.e. the Chamber of Commerce file). With this project the province of Gelderland is in the lead in finding a connection to the future New Trade Register (NHR).
Human Inference and Inology together with the province of Gelderland have realized the company register of the province in a short period of time. In cooperation with internal source managers Human Inference entered into agreements about the data model and deliveries as well as the quality of the register and ensured maintenance and control (of both the data contracts and the database). Inology designed, built and implemented the register as an Internet application. In addition, procedures to initially load the data of the source systems into the database and to maintain the conversion instructions were put in place.
Emile Hagelen, project leader of the province of Gelderland: 'We know that the NHR will be there, but we do not know precisely when. With the company register for the province of Gelderland we are prepared for this, because every company is being registered in an unambiguous way and the unique identification is thus a fact. In addition, it is important to know where the company is located since the province makes a lot of its information available via location material on the Internet. For that purpose pairs of coordinates are being determined (geo coding). With this current project we can both work more efficiently and prepare ourselves for the future.'

The company register of the province of Gelderland together with the already available relationship data file form an important basis for the local Data Service Center (GSC) that has recently been founded. The GSC plays a crucial role in organizing and maintaining the common use of this data.
