Data Quality Systems and Practices
Data quality is no longer an IT problem. Accurate and timely data is vital to informed business decisions, operational efficiency, and risk management. It is a primary indicator of the long-term succcess or failure of an organization.
Cutter's research on data quality systems and practices will build on the 2006 report on Data Management Strategies. Our research will focus on approaches and software solutions that are aimed specifically at evaluating, improving and monitoring the quality of data. Our research will examine standalone data quality systems and include a summary of functions, coverage and applicability to the fund management industry as well as review industry leading practices in this challenging area.
Execution Management Systems
Execution management systems (EMS) provide essential connectivity to liquidity destinations, trade cost analytics, and algorithms in one platform without the latency associated with traditional order management systems.
Cutter's research will focus on execution management systems and related industry trends that are prompting leading buy-side trading departments to reassess their approach to trading technology. Our research will examine independent EMS vendors and how order management and broker dealer offerings compare in functional areas such as program trading, transaction cost analytics and direct market access.
