Customer Due Diligence lunch session, Sofitel Astoria, Brussels
Strict compliance laws and regulations force organizations to check the identities of their customers. Such checks are usually performed on the basis of so-called black lists. Organizations that do not comply with the legislation run the risks of being fined or of suffering image and integrity damage. Incorporating laws and regulation within an organization and matching internal customer data with external sources are not easy tasks.
How can you implement Customer Due Diligence within your organization and arrange company and IT processes in such a way that you will not be fined or will not suffer any other damage? To answer this question Human Inference organizes a thematic lunch session on September 12, 2006 in the Salon Bleu of Sofitel Astoria Hotel in Brussels.
Leen Paape, former partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, opens the session with the presentation 'Can you allow yourself to do business with ....?' Leen Paape is a former member of the Global Leadership Team Internal Audit Services and the lead of the Basel II team. Next to that, he is Program Director of the Post-Master's Education in Internal/Operational Auditing at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
The next speaker Jan-Dirk Bulens, Business Support Manager, provides more insight in the way Interpolis implemented IT-solutions regarding compliance laws and regulations within the organization.
Afterwards we would like to exchange thoughts about the opportunities and challenges of introducing Customer Due Diligence within the business community.
