Master Data Management

On 29 November 2005 SAP, Capgemini and Human Inference hosted an event on their cooperation within master data management (MDM).

MDM consists of the management of all business processes, applications and the technical integration architecture. This combination is used to generate and guarantee an unambiguous view of the core business of the entire organization.

All data in an organization is in constant motion. Customers come and go. Business partners as well as suppliers change continuously. Mergers and reorganizations are no exception in day-to-day business processes. All these changes result in inconsistent data, with all conclusive damages and disadvantages for an organization. The solution lies in a combination of high quality software and services, integrated in a platform that facilitates all business processes.

For this joint MDM-solution, SAP NetWeaver is the integration platform. Capgemini supports the analyses of different IT-processes and contributes its extensive experience in integration and implementation of SAP-solutions, including MDM. Human Inference, eventually, supplies the data quality software and professional services.

Bart Hogendoorn, managing director SAP Netherlands, was very pleased with this cooperation. He stressed that the acceptance of IT-systems is highly dependant on the data that are processed within these systems: 'Problems are being traced back to the system, not the data. This negative perception must be prevented in the most early stages of the process. Therefore, the Human Inference data quality solutions are an excellent addition to the SAP products.'

Hugo Verwijs, CEO of Human Inference, noted that data quality is becoming increasingly important on management level. This cooperation event is a very good example of that positive tendency.
