On 18 May 2005 the participants of the masterclass, organized by Nyenrode University, Human Inference and Acxiom, received their certificates from Prof. dr. Ed Peelen. The masterclass included topics such as 'measuring and improving data quality', 'the business case for data quality ', 'analysis of customer behaviour' and 'privacy dimensions'. Customer case stories were presented by Robeco Direct, Center Parcs and Reed Business Information.
Business case
In the closing conference, the 23 participants (divided in five groups) presented the business case they had been working on throughout the entire masterclass. The business case focused on the data quality and data creativity issues in the environment of the liberalization of the Dutch utilities market.
Learning in practice
Under the capable guidance of Ed Peelen, a variety of business experts elaborated on the specific topics and customer stories. The business case, the connecting thread within the masterclass, was used to implement the subject matters of the various lectures.
This specific practical aspect was highly valued by the participants.
«The right balance between theory and learning in practise, as well as the high-quality lecturers, made this masterclass a very useful and applicable experience».
